Cuban rowing plans to begin 2026 with a training camp at the Hanabanilla Dam in the central province of Villa Clara, with its sights set on the Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo.

While awaiting approval of the 2026 critical path, Cuban judokas are intensifying their training to participate in the Paris Grand Slam, a tournament that awards points for the world ranking (WR) in preparation for the Olympic cycle culminating in the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

With their recent victories, the Leones de Industriales and the Cazadores de Artemisa qualified for the postseason of the 64th Cuban National Baseball Series, a feat previously achieved by Las Tunas, Matanzas, Holguín, and Mayabeque.

Just like in 2024, beach volleyball players made a name for themselves in the sport, with standout performances from the duos of Noslen Diaz and Jorge Luis Alayo, and Damian Gomez and Eblis Veranes, who secured prominent positions in the poll to select the best Cuban athletes of 2025.

 With a fury that exceeded all predictions, Cuban boxer Giorvis Salfrán opened the day in Dubai with a resounding victory that further elevated his squad’s perfect record in the IBA World Championship.

Cuban U-19 national soccer team will face Panama Friday, in their debut match at the UNCAF FIFA Forward U-19 Tournament, which will be played from December 5-11 at Yappy Park and COS Sports Plaza stadiums in Panama City.

Activists from several continents launched the "Let Them Play" campaign to demand that the United States government grant visas to Cuban athletes, following the denial of approximately one hundred permits so far in 2025, which is hindering their participation in qualifying events for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

The Cuban men's team lost today 0-3 against Mexico in the closing of the group stage, for Pool B, in the Continental Championship of the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (Norceca) U-17, a tournament that will conclude this Sunday at the Alexis Argüello Sports Complex in Managua, Nicaragua.

With its berth secured for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo, Cuba declined the option to participate in this year’s Caribbean Baseball Cup, which will give tickets for the world’s oldest regional multi-sport event.
