Cuba was picked as Caribbean’s Leading Cultural Destination in 2022 by World Travel Awards for the second consecutive year.
Also nominated to the award was Trinidad-Tobago, Barbados, The Bermudas, Jamaica, Martinique and Puerto Rico.

The first Cuban trade delegation made up of representatives of 25 state and non-state enterprises, including MSMEs, will travel to the Dominican Republic this weekend, to participate in the multisectoral exhibition HUB Camara Santo Domingo 2022, scheduled for September 6 to 8.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel called for efficiency and stable sugar production during the upcoming sugar cane harvest to kick off in November.

Some 370,000 economic actors are portrayed in the Cuban Business Guide (www.negocioscuba.cu), a complete directory of all forms of management in the country, the result of an alliance between the National Association of Cuban Economists and Accountants (ANEC), the Cuban telecommunications enterprise ETECSA and the MSME Dofleini SRL.

The Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) approved today 96 new applications for the establishment of private MSMEs.

Along with varieties of chickpea seeds that the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (Tika) donated to Cuba a few years ago, now agricultural equipment is being added to improve yields and grain harvests in the municipality of Taguasco, Sancti Spiritus(central Cuba), where a cooperation project with that entity is being carried out.

The Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) approved today 101 new applications for the establishment of economic actors, 100 of them private MSMEs and one a non-agricultural cooperative, which pushes up to 4,859 the number of approvals since the process began in September 2021.

“Energy production is facing a complex situation worldwide, but in the case of Cuba it is aggravated by the persistent U.S. blockade,” said Liván Arronte Cruz, Minister of Energy and Mines (MINEM), remarking that 56 of over 200 measures applied by the Donald Trump administration are still in force.

The Cuban embassy in Belgium hosted the first meeting of the "Visit Latin America" initiative, promoted by Air Europa and the specialized tourism marketing company Glenaki, and representatives from Argentina, Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru and the Dominican Republic, who gave an update on their tourism markets to tour operators, travel agencies and specialized media.
