The sale of foreign currency to the population will begin this Tuesday, throughout the national territory, as part of the measures designed by the Cuban government with a view to the implementation of the foreign exchange market, announced Alejandro Gil Fernández, deputy prime minister and Minister of Economy and Planning (MEP).

Commercial flights of TAAG-Angolan Airlines destined for Cuba will resume this November, after their interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The recently set up micro, small, medium companies and cooperatives employ 109 thousand 237 Cuban citizens, including 7 thousand 890 owners or partners, along 101 thousand 347 employees, according to official estimates.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel highlighted today the measures implemented in the country for the benefit of the economy and assured that Cuba will work without respite to build a better country.

Alejandro Gil Fernández, deputy prime minister and head of the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), clarified that the purchase of foreign currency by the State should not lead to higher prices, since this measure is aimed at promoting observance of the legislation and contributing to the country's recovery.
