Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said today that the Cuban-made vaccines have proved to be effective against all strains of SARS-CoV-2 and remarked that they will make it possible, together with the compliance with the basic rules of self-protection, to control the pandemic in the country.

The Canadian Network in solidarity with Cuba donated over one million syringes to the island in an effort to help the fight against COVID-19.

“In my life, I have met several international medical missions, but helping save lives in my own country amidst a difficult scenario marked by COVID-19 is an immense honor,” said Doctor Israel Avila.

The second dose of the vaccine Abdala will be administered as of today in the city of Cienfuegos, the one with the highest number of COVID-19 cases.
