Havana, March 31 (ACN) Cuban ambassador to Grenada Yadirys Echenique ratified her country’s willingness to keep up cooperation in education with the sister Caribbean nation, despite the difficulties faced under the US economic blockade.

Echenique, accompanied by Consul Ariel Pazos Ortiz, conveyed warm greetings to Andrew and his team from Naima Trujillo Barreto and Walter Baluja García, Cuba’s Ministers of Education and Higher Education, respectively, who expressed their support for the joint projects maintained between both parties.
Andrew acknowledged Cuba’s contributions to teacher training for the Grenadian people, emphasizing that cooperation has been essential for the development of the national education system.
The Grenadian parliament member also highlighted that the experience and commitment of Cuban professionals have left a positive mark on the preparation of several generations of his fellow citizens.
The meeting took place on the eve of a new anniversary of bilateral relations between Cuba and Grenada, which will be celebrated on April 14.
The Russian shipment is the first to arrive in Cuba over the past three months. An oil tanker brought Mexican oil to the island in early January, just before US
President Donald Trump threatened to impose sanctions on any country that provided oil to Cuba. The US measure led to an oil blockade impacting all economic and social sectors on the island nation.
