HAVANA, Cuba, Aug 31 (ACN) Cuba studied 43,834 samples to detect COVID 19, with 6,342 positive results. The country accumulates 7, 935,443 samples taken and 652,855 positive.
At the end of August 30, 96,653 patients were admitted, 56,853 suspected, 4,312 under surveillance and 35,488 confirmed active.
Of the total number of cases, 6,312 were contacts of confirmed cases; 19 with source of infection abroad and 11 without source of infection determined. There were 7,626 discharges, 612,007 patients recovered (93.7%) and 84 people died. There are 431 confirmed patients in ICUs, of which 148 are critical and 283 are serious.
Of the 6,342 positive cases, 4.7% (295) were asymptomatic, totaling 117,772, representing 18.0% of those confirmed to date. The diagnosed cases belong to the following age groups: under 20 years of age (1,597); 20 to 39 (1,649); 40 to 59 (1,784); and over 60 (1,312).
