The President of Cuba’s National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) Esteban Lazo said in the Angolan capital, Luanda, that the friendship shared by the African nation and Cuba is a shield against adversity.

The Government of Switzerland, through its embassy on the Island, expressed its solidarity with the people and Government of the Republic of Cuba for the damages caused by Hurricane Melissa, which impacted the southeast of the country on October 29, 2025.

Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla thanked Annalena Baerbock, President of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, for the organization’s support following Hurricane Melissa.

Speaking from the UN headquarters, Cuba's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Anayansi Rodríguez Camejo assessed as categorical and substantive the first day of debates at the United Nations General Assembly on the resolution demanding an end to the U.S. blockade, where clear examples were presented of its negative impact on the island.
