HANOI, Vietnam.–On Thursday, the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) approved, on its fourth day of work, the list of 200 elected members who will make up the Party's Central Committee for the 14th term, the fundamental governing body between congresses.
The list, headed by CPV General Secretary To Lam, is composed of 180 official members and 20 alternates, the result of a rigorous, democratic process in accordance with Party regulations, carried out under the supervision of the Congress Presidium.
Prior to the vote, Le Minh Hung, member of the Political Bureau, secretary of the Central Committee, and head of the Organization Commission, presented the Report of the Central Committee of the 13th term on personnel work for the next stage, a document that guides the construction of a solid, ethical collective leadership with high political and professional capacity.
The delegates analyzed and debated the Report, carried out the nomination and selection processes, and examined the files of the proposed personnel, ensuring transparency, accountability, and consensus at each stage.
According to the program of the 14th Congress, this morning the Central Committee of the new term will hold its first plenary session, and in the afternoon, the Congress will hold its closing session, marking the end of a decisive conclave for Vietnam's political and strategic future.
