The virus of Trumpism cannot infect the internationalist practices of the Cuban Revolution!

The internationalist spirit of the Cuban Revolution, which has become established policy, can be traced back to the very beginning of the revolutionary process.
When Fidel Castro came to power following the triumph of the Rebel Army on January 1, 1959, health conditions in Cuba were precarious, especially in rural areas, and there were widespread poverty and illiteracy.
Of the few young people from poor families who had the opportunity to study medicine, some had to wait for five years or more to save enough money to pay for their degree. It was the Revolution that allowed them to graduate at no cost.
Several doctors, members of elite families, chose to leave the country rather than join in the new socialized healthcare system, so it was necessary to train as many doctors as needed.
However, the Cuban revolutionary leadership was never concerned only with Cuba: its cause was human dignity. The immortal Ernesto "Che" Guevara, the Argentine doctor who gave his life in Bolivia fighting to liberate the people of that country, was a passionate humanist and internationalist.
Che resigned from his government post and his role as president of the Central Bank of Cuba to become a guerrilla and a doctor in Africa, joining those who were fighting to free themselves from colonialism and white supremacy. That was the true spirit of uplifting all of humanity.
Today, as part of the revolutionary commitment stemmed from that great internationalist vision, Cuba has positioned itself at the forefront of healthcare, not only for its own citizens but for people all over the world. Thousands of young people from various nations, mainly from the Third World, became doctors in Cuba, and Cuban doctors work in numerous countries.
All of this has been achieved thanks to the extraordinary effort and revolutionary generosity of a people under an economic and financial blockade and constant threat and hostility. The Cuban government and people know what they have had to do and must still do for the survival of their Revolution and for its internationalist drive. Cuban professionals carry out their internationalist missions with great enthusiasm and pride.
Therefore, we strongly reject and denounce the repeated statements made by the evil and inept Trump regime in an effort to vilify the Cuban leadership and belittle the internationalist commitments of the island's professionals.
At this moment, as the richest nation in history goes through a profound health crisis that it should have avoided and lacked the material preparedness, organization, or social capital to tackle COVID-19, its leaders choose to be blatantly loud in their contempt for Cuba, a small blockaded and struggling island in the Caribbean that is even helping countries in the developed world.
The elderly in this country would say that they are taking shame and turning it into a fight.
SHAME ON THE TRUMP REGIME!
LONG LIVE THE INTERNATIONALIST SPIRIT OF THE CUBAN REVOLUTION!
