HAVANA, Cuba, January 27 (ACN) China today reaffirmed its opposition to the United States' hostility toward Cuba and its concern over plans to block oil supplies to the island.
At a press conference, Foreign Ministry spokesman GuoJiakun urged Washington to stop depriving the Cuban people of their right to survival and development, Prensa Latina reported.
Jiakun stated that the United States must end its violations of international law and immediately lift the blockade and sanctions against Cuba.
"We note that the Cuban Foreign Ministry has already responded to this matter, stating that such actions constitute brutal repression against a peaceful nation that harbors no hostility toward any country, and further demonstrate that Cuba's economic difficulties are primarily caused by the United States," the spokesman said.
Regarding the possible blockade of hydrocarbon imports to Cuba, Deputy Foreign Minister Carlos Fernáadez de Cossio asserted that such measures are irrefutable proof that the economic hardships faced by the Cuban people are primarily caused and orchestrated from Washington.
