India organization supports Cuba's dignity

HAVANA, Cuba, January 30 (ACN) G. Devarajan, Secretary General of the All India Forward Bloc, affirmed that Cuba's dignity in the face of US threats deserves recognition, denouncing the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by Washington for more than six decades.

In statements to Prensa Latina, the Indian leader reaffirmed the South Asian nation's support for the Cuban people in their struggle against imperialist policies and pointed out that US coercive measures affect not only the island but all of humanity.

Devarajan emphasized that US imperialism is currently manifesting itself through tariffs and secondary sanctions against countries that maintain trade relations with Cuba and Venezuela, which he described as a form of state cruelty.

He recalled that those who defend peace, democracy, and social justice have a responsibility to oppose these practices, and asserted that the people of India have always supported those who fight for their freedom and sovereignty.

He also stated that the Cuban motto "Homeland or Death" reflects the revolutionary spirit of the Caribbean nation, which is why his organization supports the island's resistance against external aggression.

The All India Forward Bloc was found  in 1939 as a faction within the Indian National Congress, led by Subhas Chandra Bose, and was re-established as an independent party after the country's independence.

With its main base in West Bengal, this political group advocates socialism, nationalism, and equitable economic development, and played a significant role in promoting land reforms and workers' rights.
