Cuba and Russia confirmed their willingness to continue deepening their ties for bilateral economic, commercial and scientific-technical cooperation during the meeting of the intergovernmental Commission headed by Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz and Russian Vice President Yuri Borisov.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla thanked today in Austria the solidarity with and support to the island in the struggle to put an end to the criminal U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade.

A delegation of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) of Cuba, headed by its secretary, Homero Acosta, began today a working visit that includes the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the institutions of the European Union.

"I offer my fraternal congratulations to Gustavo Petro for his election as President of Colombia in a historic popular victory," Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez wrote on Twitter. “We reiterate our willingness to move forward in the development of bilateral relations for the well-being of our peoples.”

Cuban deputy PM Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz and Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov expressed the rejection of their respective countries to the establishment of a unipolar world order contrary to international law, the Cuban foreign ministry noted today.

The economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government on Cuba is not the solution to achieve progress in human rights, said today Christian Cambon, chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Armed Forces of the French Senate.
