The Pepe Portilla pediatric hospital in the province of Pinar del Río received a donation of more than 2,200 pounds of powdered milk through the Bridges of Love project, the Code Pink organization, and Americans and Cubans living in the United States engaged in efforts to help Cuba and to eliminate the U.S. blockade of the Island.

During an official visit to Uganda, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla met with Anita Annet Among, Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament, and members of the Cuba-Uganda inter-parliamentary group.

The Cuban company commercializing medical services, known by its Spanish acronyms CSMC, called on participants at the Expocaribe trade fair, underway in this eastern city, to participate at the First International Medical Tourism and Wellbeing Fair to take place October 17-20.

Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban communist party and president of the country, mourned today the death of reserve brigadier generals Enrique Acevedo Gonzalez and Armando Quiñonez Machado.

Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) and president of the country, today visited the University of Matanzas (UM), an institution that in 2022 celebrates its 50th anniversary of foundation.

Cuba and France ratified their willingness to expand and strengthen bilateral parliamentary relations during a meeting in Havana between Cuban Parliament President Esteban Lazo and the head of the Friendship-with-the-Caribbean Group at the French senate, Helen Conway-Mouret.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla and the head of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Equatorial Guinea, Simeón Oyono Esono Angue, ratified their willingness to strengthen the ties of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two countries during a meeting in which both leaders reviewed the state of their bilateral relations, started almost 50 years ago.

 “We are about to enter a decisive stage of the support we need to ensure that the emancipatory principles of equality and inclusion enshrined in the Family Code are really approved,” Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said.

 “Building a prosperous and sustainable socialism is not possible without energy development, a highly topical issue impossible to disregard now that the world is facing the crisis caused by climate change,” Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, deputy prime minister of Cuba, said at the opening of the 2nd Renewable Energy Fair, attended by guests from more than 30 countries and domestic and foreign universities and enterprises engaged in the rational and efficient use of renewable energy sources
He remarked that Cuba needs to guarantee people’s access to clean energies, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, which is a government priority, even if the use of renewable sources in the country is still insufficient.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel urged to strengthen popular participation in the search for local development solutions and to keep protecting socialism, working hard and promoting the exemplarity of cadres in a message that he posted on the occasion of his meeting with municipal People's Power leaders, who reported about the visits of permanent working commissions to several provinces to check the implementation of measures for the benefit of the population, as well as the existing local potential and needs of resources.

 A delegation of the General Customs Office of the Republic of Cuba (AGR) presided by its head Nelso Cordovés Reyes will participate in the 139th and 140th Sessions of the Council of the World Customs Organization (WCO), to be held in Brussels, Belgium on June 23 to 25.
