 The Ernesto Che Guevara brigade, of the contingent Razones por la Vida (Reasons for Life), made up of 50 students registered in different degrees of the University of Medical Sciences of Guantanamo (UCMGT by its Spanish acronym)), was flagged today in this eastern city to strengthen during the summer season the services of the provincial hospital Dr. Agostihno Neto, the main health care institution of the territory.

Jose Luis Toledo, chairman of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament) of Cuba, received today Tobias Bank, secretary general of the German party Die Linke (The Left).

The Third National Workers' Congress, held on August 2-7, 1925 in Camagüey(eastern Cuba), marked a milestone in the history of the Cuban trade union movement by announcing in its final session the creation of the National Workers' Confederation of Cuba (CNOC by its Spanish acronym)), a decision taken by representatives of 82 related organizations in the country.

Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, thanked the friends of the world for their solidarity on Sunday in the caravans against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on the island more than 60 years ago.

Growing sectors worldwide, such as health and wellness and artificial intelligence, will take center stage at the 1st International Sports Fair in Havana, to be held on August 1 to 6.

“Every day, every hour, every minute, we have a Moncada to storm,” Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said today at the political-cultural event marking the 70th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.

“Why the Moncada?” is the title of a revealing report by Verde Olivo magazine that explains the reasons for the audacious actions that led to the triumph of the Revolution and the subsequent struggle for a better country resolved to never return to a gloomy past which would be even more ruthless in today's conditions.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez attended a gala performance dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks in Bayamo.

As part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, more than 200 members of Cuba solidarity movements from 26 countries held a meeting in the city of Santiago de Cuba, chaired by President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

 “Cuba’s experience is very valuable, and it is very important that we learn from each other,” said Ertol Zhurda, a 29-year-old communist engineer from Greece, one of the 47 members of the 50th José Martí Brigade of Voluntary Work and Solidarity with Cuba, made up of 13 countries.

 “With the fortitude of the nation and of the unity of all women and men and all families, with the color Cuban, we fight on,” Cuba's deputy prime minister Ines Maria Chapman posted on Twitter to hail the International Day of Afro-descendant Women.
