A thousand 185 new positive cases of COVID-19 were detected on Sunday in Cuba, for a total of 150,103 people diagnosed with the disease since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country on March 11, 2020, the ministry of public health (MINSAP by its Spanish acronym) reported today.

Cuba studied 20,992 samples for COVID 19, resulting in 1,185 positive ones. The country accumulates 4, 484,454 samples taken and 150,103 positive.

The Swedish campaign to support vaccination in Cuba against COVID-19 provided around 18,000 euros in its first three weeks, said today Zoltan Tiroler, president of the Swedish-Cuban solidarity association.

In the last 15 days 17,300 people have been diagnosed in Cuba with the virus causing the COVID-19, 96.3 % of them due to autochthonous transmission, still strong and that despite the efforts has not been controlled in the country, informed today the Cuban ministry of public health ( MINSAP by its Spanish acronym).

Cuba received today a donation of 100,000 syringes from Copa Airlines, through its Despega Foundation, to contribute to the fight against COVID-19 in the country.

In view of the complex epidemiological situation in Havana, it was decided to extend to all its municipalities, starting in the second half of June, the health intervention with the three doses of the Abdala vaccine candidate, which is currently applied in groups and territories at risk in the capital.

The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported that by the end of May 31, two million 037,745 doses of Cuban vaccine candidates had been applied in the country.
