Cuba reported today 7,437 new COVID-19 cases, 74 deaths, and 7,806 medical discharges, for a total of 723,81 recovered patients (94.1% of the infected).

EMCOMED (Empresa Comercializadora de Medicamentos) plays a key role in the distribution of anti-COVID-19 vaccines, according to Ángel Luis Chacón, director of the BioCubaFarma group organization said on a TV appearance.

Public Health and Education authorities issued an update Tuesday on the progress of the anti-COVID-19 vaccination process in Cuba, especially among children and adolescents expected to start the oncoming new school year.

Dr. Jose Angel Portal Miranda, Cuban Minister of Public Health, discussed on Tuesday the epidemiological situation in the municipality of Banes, the second with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the province of Holguin in recent days.

 By the end of September 12, 7,031,689 Cubans had received at least one dose of one of the national vaccines against COVID-19: Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala.

 Cuba studied a total of 49,778 samples to detect COVID 19, resulting in 7,516 positive results. The country accumulates 8, 728,301 samples taken and 761,060 positive.

At the end of September 11, 16, 438,294 doses of the national vaccines Soberana 02, Soberana Plus and Abdala had been administered in Cuba, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP by its Spanish acronym) reported today.

Cuba studied a total of 53,586 samples for the detection of COVID 19, resulting in 8,342 positive tests. The country accumulates 8, 678,523 samples taken and 753,544 positive.

The ongoing nationwide COVID-19 vaccination of children and adolescents in Cuba is not mandatory, said the head of the National Pediatrics Group with the Cuban Health Ministry, Lissette Lopez.

The Cuban Health Minister reported the administration, up to September 8, of 15 million 526 thousand 511 doses of the locally developed vaccines against COVID-19 Soberana and Abdala.

The head of the Cuban Immunization Program, Lena Lopez announced the completion of the administration of a first dose of the locally developed COVID-19 vaccines to a first group of students including high school 12 graders and others in the final stages of technical-professional education and pedagogy.

Cuba studied 59,905 samples for the detection of COVID 19, resulting in 8,394 positive tests. The country accumulates 8, 512,380 samples taken and 729,133 positive.

Lena Lopez Ambron, head of the Immunization Program of the Ministry of Public Health ( MINSAP by its Spanish acronym), updated today on the strategy of vaccination of children in Cuba against COVID-19.

Following a visit to Pinar del Rio, the province with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the country, Public Health Minister Jose Angel Portal Miranda said that changing the epidemiological situation requires everybody’s engagement and awareness.
In the last 15 days, over 15,600 people have tested positive in this province, for an incidence rate of more than 2,600 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the highest in Cuba today.
