Cuba reinforced the prevention and fight against trafficking in persons and related crimes despite the impact by the COVID-19 pandemic on the country, according to an annual report on the issue.

The Literacy Museum, with the support of the Ministry of Education ( MINED), the Ministry of Culture ( MINCULT), Casa de las Americas and the Institute of History of Cuba invite to the academic-cultural day "60 years of the Literacy Campaign", which began today in Havana.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez is attending today the third working day of the Cuban deputies as part of the activities leading up to the 8th ordinary session of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), in its 9th Legislature.

On December 22, 1961, the leader of the Revolution Fidel Castro announced to the world the successful completion of the Literacy Campaign to provide education to more than 700,000 illiterate adult Cubans, a day of joy established since then as Teacher’s Day in Cuba.

Cuba denounced on Sunday in a virtual meeting of the Executive Committee of the World Peace Council (WPC) that it is subjected to a brutal blockade and an unconventional war at the hands of the U.S. imperialism.

Cuba is proud of the progress made in the Program for the Advancement of Women (PAM), with deep transformations in favor of women's empowerment and gender equality, said Deputy Prime Minister Inés María Chapman on Sunday at the Commission for the Attention to Youth, Children and Equal Rights of Women.

Antonio Guerrero, one of the Five Cuban anti-terrorist Heroes, during his brief stay on Monday in the municipality of Majagua, in the central province of Ciego de Avila, recalled fragments of a letter sent by him to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro in which he stated that they had never stopped being in Cuba.

As part of the activities prior to the 8th ordinary period of sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP), in its 9th Legislature, deputies will receive information this Monday from the Ministries of Agriculture, Food Industry, Domestic Trade and Foreign Trade and Investment.

As an expression of the need to integrate efforts and resources to fully assume the legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, the 3rd Plenum of the Party's Central Committee approved on Friday morning the National Program for the study, research and diffusion of the thought, life and work of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
