United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres condemned on Monday the escalation of violence and loss of human lives in Haiti following the death of at least 200 people between December 6th and 8th.

In a post on X on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of political ties with the Caribbean community, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel remarked that the region will always be able to count on Cuba and quoted the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, who in 1998 said, “We believe in the strength of a united Caribbean; we are convinced that together we will overcome the great challenges ahead".
