HAVANA, Cuba, Jul 8 (ACN) We condemn the Israeli bombings against Lebanon, Cuban FM Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla declared today on X.
The head of Cuban diplomacy stated that the recent attacks violate the ceasefire in that Arab country and are part of an aggressive policy to reshape the Middle East, jeopardizing efforts to promote regional peace.
In his address, Rodriguez Parrilla denounced the attacks on the ports of Hodeida, Ras Isa, and Salif, as well as the Ras Kanatib power plant, vital infrastructure in Yemen.
Late Sunday, local media confirmed an attack by an Israeli helicopter against the town of Maroun al-Ras, in the southern district of Bint Jbeil, and another with machine gun fire from its newly established position in Tallet al-Hamams, toward the Marjayoun plain (southeast).
The municipalities of Bodai and Flawi, both located in the Baalbek governorate in eastern Lebanon, were also targeted by the Israeli army, as well as the vicinity of Nabi Chit, near the Syrian-Lebanese border.
The agreement reached on October 7, 2023, stipulated that both Israel and Hezbollah would withdraw their troops from southern Lebanon; however, the Israeli army has maintained five posts in the territory of its neighboring country.
