Leftist Hungarians Demand End of US Blockade against Cuba



Havana, July 14 (ACN) Leftist Hungarian organizations expressed their solidarity with Cuba in a public statement issued Monday in the context of Cuban National Rebellion Day, July 26th, and the 99th birthday of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro.

Cuba represents a bastion of resistance against global capitalism, reads the statement which was published on the Cuban Foreign Ministry’s website. The activists praise Cuba’s achievements in education, healthcare and international solidarity, despite the prolonged blockade imposed by Washington.

The Hungarian activists said that the over-60-year blockade against Cuba has unsuccessfully used political and social sanctions to break the island’s sovereignty; they also demanded the end of the US anti-Cuba policy, which they labeled illegal, immoral and failed.

The activists stressed Cuba’s commitment to the oppressed peoples of the world the island’s contribution to the education, health and culture of different nations.
