The Cuban men's basketball team will play tonight its qualification to the FIBA AmeriCup 2025 in a game against the Bahamas, marked by the urgency of having to win with only nine players out of the 15 called up.

The Havana Challengers Match and the Night of Champions in Russia are among the most upcoming events of Cuban boxing in 2025, according to their organizers, who offered details including the participants, with a highlight for Julio Cesar La Cruz in the first one.

With only nine of the 15 call up players so far, Cuba’s national basketball team will be opposite the Bahamas today at the Sir Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium in Nassau in a vital pool play game to secure a direct pass to the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup, to be held in Managua, Nicaragua, on August 23-31.

Cuba’s Luis Enrique Zayas won the silver medal with a 2.25m jump in the High Jump Meet of Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, a World Indoor Tour Silver Meeting.

The Cuban rowers and canoeists striving to get a place in the 2025 Junior Pan American Games, to be held in Asuncion, Paraguay on August 9 to 23, are already training in the province of Villa Clara’s Hanabanilla Lake.

Runners can already register for the VI Varadero international marathon, to be held on March 30 at the Varadero Beach resort of the province of Matanzas and dedicated this year to Cuban athletics legend Ana Fidelia Quiros, two-time Olympic medalist and two-time world champion in the 800m race.

Andres Taño Gonzalez, national judo commissioner, informed today to the Cuban News Agency (ACN) that the five Cuban judokas who recently participated at the Grand Slam (GS) in Paris are at a training base in Budapest, Hungary.
