Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, received on Monday at the Palace of the Revolution Gao Zhidan, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, director of the General Administration of Sports and president of the Olympic Committee of that country, the Presidency of Cuba announced on X.
Cuban president described the visit as very significant, as a result of the agreements reached between both nations.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening sports exchange with China, a country whose sports and traditional practices Cuba admires, part of a millenary culture that is impressive.
Among the areas to be boosted are the exchange of methodologies, joint training and the promotion of bilateral events.
Gao Zhidan, who arrived in Cuba last Saturday, thanked for the warm welcome, showing the special relations that unite the two nations.
He also underscored the excellent state of ties between the Parties, governments and people of both countries, as well as in the sports sector, strengthened during 65 years of friendship.
