The days ahead do not seem favorable for the prevention and control of COVID-19. At least that is what short-term forecasts predict. Confirmed cases will increase; recovered patients will also increase, but on a smaller scale than the number of new patients.

Cuba will soon have a laboratory specialized in transgenic foods at the National Institute of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology (INHEM), in the capital, informed PhD José Antonio Carrera, head of its Laboratories Department.

Much has been said about the need to maintain healthy eating habits, due to the multiple health conditions derived from obesity: high blood pressure, diabetes and circulatory or orthopedic problems, among others.

The workers of the Provincial Laboratory of Technical Orthopedics of Camaguey (eastern region) reverse with their daily actions the limitations of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, with the aim of offering a better quality of life to the patients.

Although the factors leading COVID-19 patients to a severe stage are still uncertain, hospitals have observed that age is a predisposing factor in adults over 65 years old and found that their level of mobility and comorbidities also have an impact.
