HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 4 (ACN) The new coronavirus spreads out so fast and is so dangerous and unpredictable that there is no room for carelessness in surveillance or slowness in the application of health protocols. That is why this is a permanent battle and that is how the government is assessing the epidemiological situation in each province.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez made a call Wednesday to go over the reasons that several provinces where the pandemic had been under control until very recently have suffered setbacks. He stressed the need to be thorough in this regard if we expect to win this war for life as soon as possible.
Deputy Prime Minister Roberto Morales Ojeda said in turn that we need to keep improving the effectiveness of our protocols at community level and in production centers still in operation so that "anyone showing symptoms goes to the doctor at once".
Cuba has an incidence rate of 109.3 per 100,000 inhabitants, whereas 333 people have died so far from COVID-19 and 23 local and 16 institutional clusters of cases remain active nationwide.
