The Finlay Institute of Vaccines announced on its Facebook page that Yury Valdes Balbin, the institute's director general, received the 2025 National Chemistry Prize, awarded by the Cuban Chemical Society in recognition of his scientific career.

The recent restrictive measures imposed against Cuba by the U.S. have generated far-reaching disruptions to vital health services, transportation, and supplies, with direct repercussions for the care of pregnant women, children, chronically ill patients, and medical emergencies, the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported through the Granma newspaper.

With the aim of contributing to physical and family well-being, the Dutch foundation Stichting Cuba Adelante is cooperating with public health institutions and vulnerable population groups in the province of Holguín by providing donations.
