HAVANA, Cuba, November 11 (ACN) Members of the Christian Medical & Dental Associations of the United States, in coordination with the Baptist Medical Fellowship of Cuba, visited several public health institutions in the western province of Mayabeque.
According to weekly newspaper Mayabeque, during their visit to the Aleida Fernandez Chardiet Clinical Surgical Hospital, a conference on autism and neurodevelopment was held as part of the exchange, with the participation of specialists from various medical fields.
At the province's Faculty of Medical Sciences, the American professionals gave presentations aimed at special education teachers, doctors, and other healthcare workers.
The report emphasizes that, as part of their mission, guided by Christian principles, the visitors shared gifts with pediatric patients, including sweets and copies of the Bible, given to promote family reading.
They also spoke with students, nurses, and doctors about clinical practices and care protocols.
In the adult wards, they learned about the main pathologies treated at the center, where the delegation expressed their appreciation to the Cuban medical staff for their dedication and commitment to the health of the people.
