As of December 26, around 9,626,071 Cubans have completed their anti-COVID-19 vaccination scheme, which represents 86.1 % of the national population.
The province of Camaguey is included as of today in the Phase II clinical trial with the vaccine candidate Mambisa and the Abdala vaccine in COVID-19 convalescents, carried out at the Hermanos Ameijeiras Surgical Clinical Hospital in Havana.
After having sent to Vietnam five million doses of Abdala vaccine, which now are being applied with very good results in the population and in view of the current outbreak of COVID-19, Cuba ratified its willingness to offer another similar amount for its application in pediatric ages once the Vietnamese regulatory entity issues the authorization for emergency use.
As part of the programs for the informatization of Cuban society, the public health sector in the province of Holguin is expanding the digitalization of the COVID-19 vaccination process, one of the steps involved in border control.
Over 9.5 million people in Cuba have already been immunized against COVID-19 with locally developed vaccines, standing for 85.1 percent of the over 11-million Cuban population.
