International health conference features Cuba-China Cooperation Forum today

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 23 (ACN) As part of the Symposium “Global Health and International Cooperation” in the context of the V International Convention “Cuba Salud 2025”, the Cuba-China Forum will meet today to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of health, share views about the response to infectious disease emergencies, and talk about strategies and actions to tackle climate change and natural disasters.

Dr. José Ángel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health, will give an opening lecture on this important topic, since China is a major strategic partner and is attending the conference as guest of honor with 11 companies.

Today’s program at “Cuba Salud 2025” also features the Fair of the publishing house Ciencias Médicas with presentations of books on optics and optometry, integral medicine, oncopediatrics, and traumatic heart injuries, among other topics, as well as meetings with Cubans living abroad, panels on drug regulatory systems and local production, an International Symposium on Health Communication in the face of global challenges, and science and innovation for the sustainability of health systems and services.

Likewise, the day includes the 1st One Health Congress, symposiums on primary care, oral health, the mother-and-child program, and a workshop on the economics of healthcare, in addition to the International Conference on Medical Education, the Forum on Hygiene and Epidemiology, and a symposium on climate change, natural disasters and international humanitarian law.

The fairs associated with “Cuba Salud 2025” will present lectures about artificial intelligence and medical technology and the contributions of the biopharmaceutical industry to the treatment of chronic, neurodegenerative, infectious and cancer diseases.

Furthermore, the 2nd International Seminar on Health Tourism will open its doors with the exhibition of achievements in this area to improve people's wellbeing, in addition to meetings with representatives of the Russian market.
