Cuban President: The Revolution is Built Every Single Day

Havana, Dec 5 (ACN) The (Cuban) Revolution is build every day and we (Cubans) must prove that we are capable of overcoming any adversity, said Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel while visiting eastern territories recovering from the ravaging passage hurricane Melissa last month.

Diaz-Canel visited several areas in the eastern Santiago de Cuba municipality of “Tercer Frente” to oversee recovery actions on the spot. His visit is not only considered a supervision action but a way to encourage local communities in full recovery stage.

The President paid a visit to a scientific-technological agricultural center with 122 workers, who witnessed severe damage inflicted by the storm to their seedbeds, biotech labs and the roofs of many facilities.

Recovery actions must not only limit to repair what has been damaged, but also to use science and innovation in agriculture and coffee production to strengthen the country’s food sovereignty, the head of state noted.

He also toured the Mario Muñoz Monroy educational complex hosting polytechnical and pre-university students whose schoolrooms and dormitories were hard hit by the storm. The recovery actions here are expected to Benefit some 470 students.

On the eve of the 55th birthday of the High-School Student Federation (FEEM), the President called on the youths to rescue the history of the nation and be at the center of local reconstruction efforts.

The strength of the Revolution has always been a value of the youth, which can change adversity into hope, he stressed.

Diaz-Canel also met with locals in the Cruce de los Baños community near a damage bridge connecting the town of San Rafael, where he called on the people to boost recovery actions, and extended a message of confidence and resistance; hurricane Melissa put us to test but could not defeat us.

The head of state was accompanied by government ministers and Communist Party officials.
