Havana, April 21 (ACN) As part of Cuba Salud 2025 International Conference, underway in Havana, two trade exhibits opened Monday to promote commercial relations and new health technologies for the foreign market.
The two trade exhibitions, called Health for All and Health and Welfare Tourism, opened Monday in the presence of Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and Health Minister Jose Angel Portal, with over 100 stands of more than participating companies from 37 countries.
These exhibits will allow exploring new opportunities to export Cuban medical services and reach new deals to purchase resources for the Cuban health system, despite the impact of Washington’s unilateral and coercive measures, said deputy Premier Eduardo Martinez.
The top government official announced the signing of more than 30 accords, which are based on innovation, science and technology as pillars of the performance of the Cuban health system.
Martinez recalled the legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro, who always promoted a free and universal healthcare system for all citizens, with humanistic and supportive nature.
The president of the Cuban Medical Services Marketing Company Yamila de Armas said that the exhibits on medical tourism offers the opportunity for the country to get revenues through the consolidation of specialized medical services in the tourist sector.
Cuban Tourism Minister Juan Carlos García said that the two exhibits linked to the Cuba Salud 2025 Conference promote Cuban medicine and the country’s potential as a comprehensive health, welfare and quality-of-life destination.
The Cuba Salud 2025 Conference, organized by the Cuban Health Ministry, favors dialog among participants about public health management models at the world, regional and local levels.
