With the announcement by Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel that in the coming hours there will be more drastic measures to close the capital as the first outbreak of COVID-19, the Public Health Ministry (MINSAP by its Spanish acronym) began today its presentation on the update of the epidemiological situation in Cuba.

Santiago de Cuba, April 5 (ACN) Some 2 thousand Cuban health workers in eastern Santiago de Cuba province are already receiving the first shot of the Cuban COVID-19 vaccine Abdala, as part of an interventional study to immunize front-line workers.

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 5 (ACN) At the end of April 3, a total of 26,319 patients were admitted, 3,885 were suspected, 17,628 were under surveillance and 4,806 were confirmed active in Cuban hospitals.

Next Monday begins the second dose for volunteers who received the Soberana 02 vaccine candidate on March 8, and successively the rest of the subjects will be immunized, while maintaining the intervention study in Havana with all the necessary rigor and approvals.

Over the past 15 years the number of people diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has grown significantly in Cuba, closing 2020 with 1,661 people; the country joins the celebration every April 2 to raise awareness among the population about this human condition, full of myths and stereotypes.

With the inoculation of CIGB-66, an anti-COVID-19 vaccine candidate by the name of Abdala, to primary and secondary line health workers, the intervention study in this at-risk population began on April 1st in the municipality of Santiago de Cuba in the province of the same name.

With the development of four new models of pulmonary ventilators, Cuban science guarantees sufficient coverage in the field of ventilation, both for the care of COVID-19 patients, as well as in other medical fields.
