Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez conveyed his Tanzanian counterpart Mahmoud Thabit Kombo the island’s willingness to further expand bilateral relations.

“The vote at the United Nations in favor of the resolution to end the U.S. blockade makes us happy, as we see that Cuba enjoys international recognition”, said Magalys Menéndez Peñate, a popular educator who holds a Master’s Degree in Social and Community Studies.

“The only goal of the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade is to cause more suffering to the Cuban people and to intensify the economic war to make the economy collapse”, said Ernesto Soberón Guzmán, Cuba's permanent representative to the United Nations (UN).

The international community represented at the United Nations General Assembly backed Cuba against Washington’s over 60 year economic blockade with 187 votes in favor of the island’s draft bill demanding the dropping of the US hostile policy.

“The expansionist policies and unilateral coercive measures imposed by some governments, and the growing dependence on them in conjunction with interventionism, are a menace to multilateralism”, Iran's representative said today during the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
