HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 4 (ACN) Political Bureau member Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and of the Council of State, arrived in the United Republic of Tanzania to pay an official visit that endorses the historic ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The Cuban official was received by Ummy Nderiananga, deputy minister of the Tanzanian Prime Minister's Office in charge of Political, Parliamentary and Coordination Affairs; Zahor Mohamed Haji, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Tanzanian National Assembly; Yordenis Despaigne Vera, Cuban ambassador to Tanzania; and Humphrey H. Polepole, Tanzanian ambassador to Cuba.
On his first day in the country, Lazo Hernandez met with Cuban aid workers deployed in Tanzania, whom he talked about Cuba's current affairs, the role of the National Assembly, and the common history of both nations.
Among other activities, Lazo’s program includes meetings with high-ranking Tanzanian authorities.
