HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 4 (ACN) In a post on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez thanked the workers of the tourism and hotel sector and congratulated them on their great contribution to the national economy.
In his message on the occasion of Cuban Tourism and Hotel Workers' Day, the leader highlighted their role in promoting the natural talent of the Cuban people and the island’s charms, as well as their exceptional mission regarding the provision of their services to foreign visitors.
On his end, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz sent greetings to all tourism workers and commended their vital help to boost the Cuban economy.
The Hotel and Tourism Workers’ Day is celebrated annually on March 4, the birth date of Elpidio Casimiro Sosa, a combatant who fell in the actions of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks on July 26, 1953.
Sosa, who worked in a bar in Eastern Cuba at the time, put his every economic resource and his life at the disposal of the revolutionary cause.
