Cuban doctor Felix Baez, who got the Ebola virus in Sierra Leone, is making progress as the presence of the virus in his blood has significantly reduced, according to the medical team assisting him at Geneva´s Cantonal Hospital.

Sports exchanges, the setting up of training bases fpr athletes and extending cooperation in the sector, were among the topics discussed by the Russian Sports Minister Vitali Mutkó and Cuban Ambassador Emilio Lozada.

Two Cuban University professors and a student are traveling to Bridgetown, Barbados, to meet with the over 650 participants at the Semester at Sea Academic Program, which will arrive in Havana onboard the MV Explorer Cruise Ship on November 29.

The program, says The Times, is particularly hard to justify.

The president of the Latin American Diabetes Association (ALAD), Doctor Felix Manuel Escaño stressed the successful Cuban program for the prevention and control of diabetes by describing it as an example to follow in the region.

The general secretary of the Union of Latin American Nations (UNASUR), Ernesto Samper criticized the exclusion of Cuba from the Summit of the Americas describing the action as sitting at the dinner table without inviting a family member.
