HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 17 (ACN) Umaro Sissoco Embaló, President of Guinea Bissau, received today the Vice President of Cuba, Salvador Valdes Mesa, who is on an official visit to the African nation since Wednesday.
As reported on X by the Presidency of Cuba, the president highlighted the brotherhood between the two countries and assured that Cuba has a primordial place in the relations with Guinea Bissau.
Meanwhile, Valdes Mesa, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba, expressed his satisfaction for participating in the commemoration that took place on Thursday for the 50th anniversary of independence.
He also expressed his people's sense of belonging towards Guinea-Bissau, since Cuban blood was also spilled in the emancipation struggle.
Referring to the meeting, on the same social social network, Cuban Vice President said he reiterated to the Guinean president the willingness of his country to continue working together and contribute to the development of both peoples and nations.
Guinea-Bissau is the second destination of the Cuban delegation, which on November 13 began a tour of Ghana in Africa that will last until November 22 and will also take it to Rwanda and Ethiopia.
