Havana, Nov 13 (ACN) Cuba’s Vice-President Salvador Valdes Mesa is paying and official visit to Ghana as part of an African tour which also includes Rwanda, Ethiopia and Guinea Bissau.
Upon his arrival at Kotoka international airport, Valdes Mesa held brief talks with Ghanian deputy tourism minister Mark Okraku Mantey whom he told about the upcoming anniversary for the establishment of bilateral relations between the two countries on December 23rd, 1959.
This is the Cuban Vice-President’s first visit to Ghana, where he will stay till November 15. He told the Ghanian official about how bilateral relations have contributed to common cultural roots, history and traditions.
Okraku on his part considered it a wise decision the Cuban Vice-President opening his African tour by visiting Ghana, where the people admire Cuba’s efforts for peace.
Valdes Mesa is expected to meet with Ghana’s top government authorities and will honor the history of the African nation. He is also scheduled to Exchange with Cuban workers in Ghana, members of solidarity groups and members of the Cuban community in the African nation.
The Cuban delegation is made up of first deputy health minister Tania Margarita Cruz; the vice-director general for Bilateral Affairs at Cuba’s Foreign Ministry and ambassador to Ghana Anette Chao Garcia.
