HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 17 (ACN) Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel congratulated today Pedro Sanchez on his re-election as head of the Spanish government, after the vote in the Congress of Deputies in which he won 179 seats.
On X, Diaz-Canel, who is the also first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, ratified his country's willingness to continue deepening bilateral relations between the two people and governments.
In November 2018, Diaz-Canel received in Havana Sanchez, who made a two-day official visit to Cuba.
During their official talks, the two presidents agreed on the interest of boosting bilateral relations in areas such as economic-commercial, cultural, scientific and academic and cooperation.
King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia also paid an official visit to Cuba in 2019, which according to authorities on both sides showed the good state of bilateral relations.
Spain is Cuba's third largest trading partner and the main one in Europe, and since June 21, 1902, both countries have kept uninterrupted diplomatic ties.
