Cuba still registers a very high transmission of COVID-19; with the consequent increase in cases are the deaths and it is really still very tough what we are facing, warned today the national director of epidemiology of the ministry of public health, Francisco Duran.

 As of July 27, the Cuban ministry of public health (MINSAP by its Spanish acronym) reported today that 9,085,122 doses of the Cuban anti-COVID-19 vaccine candidates have been administered. According to MINSAP, to date 3,500,505 people have received at least one dose of one of the Cuban vaccine candidates; of these, 3,48,468 people have already received a second dose and 2,536,149 have received a third one.

Cuba studied 53,469 samples for COVID 19, resulting in 8,607 positive ones. The country accumulates 6, 414,461,461 samples taken and 366,985 positive.

The vaccination against COVID-19 to the population over 19 years of age, which will be extended from tomorrow to the seven municipalities of Matanzas(western province) that have not yet started the immunization, will have the support of more than 400 private drivers, said Roberto Bernal Villena, provincial director of the sector.

Cuba registered a new record in the production of 148,347 bulbs of the anti-COVID-19 Abdala vaccine, reported on Twitter Aica Laboratories Company, one of the companies in charge of this work.

The Abdala vaccine, 100 % Cuban against COVID-19, is available today in Cienfuegos province for immunization as of July 29 for people over 19 years of age living in the provincial capital, which has been most affected by the incidence of the pandemic.

Millions of doses of a vaccine against Covid-19 will be produced by Iran and Cuba starting next week, according to Dr. Vicente Vérez Bencomo, general director of the Finlay Vaccine Institute, in an interview given to a Persian media outlet.

A donation of 1.7 million syringes to back the Cuban COVID-19 vaccination efforts was sent to Cuba by the US Solidarity-with-Cuba movement.
