Holguin, Cuba's third most populated province with more than one million inhabitants, continues the immunization campaign with the vaccine Abdala—100% effective to prevent COVID-19-related complications and death—with three doses already administered to more than 152,000 people.

Cuban doctor Ricardo Hodelin, from the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba, joined the UNESCO Bioethics Network this week becoming the fifth Cuban physician to have received such acknowledgement.

Although a discreet decrease in COVID-19 cases in Cuba has been noted in recent days, this decline will not be steep, said today Dr. Francisco Duran Garcia, national director of epidemiology of the ministry of public health ( MINSAP by its Spanish acronym).
