The 31st Havana International Book wound up in Havana February 19 after 10 days of fruitful exhibits and literary encounters to kick off a journey to other Cuban provinces and close doors in eastern Santiago de Cuba city on March 19.

The 31st Havana International Book Fair concluded after 10 days that brought together 411 representatives from 54 countries—19 more than last year—and provided different artistic expressions, tributes to literary personalities and cultural exchanges with the Republic of Colombia, guest of honor.

The book entitled “Fidel, promotor de la Ciencia Animal en Cuba” (Fidel, Promoter of Animal Sciences in Cuba), was launched on Tuesday in the context of Havana’s International Book Fair, underway till February 19th.

The love for nature attracts today 19 photographers from North America and Cuba to participate in the Foto al Vuelo 2023 contest, held since last Monday in this region(western Cuba) known for being the largest and best preserved wetland in the insular Caribbean.

The 2022 Historical Criticism Awards will be presented today at the Nicolas Guillen Hall of the San Carlos de La Cabaña Fortress, the main venue of the 31st Havana International Book Fair.

 A Vietnamese-Spanish dictionary will be presented today at the headquarters of the Association of Cuban Journalists (UPEC by its Spanish acronym) by its promoter Americo, known by that nickname since he studied in Cuba and then returned to his country as a correspondent for the VNA news agency.

A non-competitive Latin American Film Week will be hosted by the San Martin Cultural Center (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires) on July 11 to 16, 2023, with the presentation of around 30 audiovisual productions.

 Based on the typical principles of solidarity and humanism of the Cuban Revolution, 38 educators from the province of Sancti Spíritus work in various countries to help improve their educational systems and share the Island's experience in this field.

Elio Rodriguez Perdomo, Cuban deputy minister of foreign affairs, opened today the stand of the Cuban presidency of the Group of 77 plus China (G77 + China) at the Havana International Book Fair 2023 (FILH by its Spanish acronym).With the aim of expanding knowledge and studying the achievements of this grouping, the space was opened for the reading and understanding of materials dedicated to this important international entity, of which Cuba assumed the Pro Tempore Presidency last January.

Cuban Culture minister Alpidio Alonso and his Serbian counterpart Maja Gojkovic signed and accord in Havana to cooperate in the area of film distribution and production.

The kitesurfing crossing from Cuba to Mexico is an example of brotherhood and solidarity between countries, according to the expert Russian athletes who plan to perform the feat this weekend.

 The Cuban company Acosta Danza, led by its first dancer Carlos Acosta, will attend the Holland Dance Festival with a show called Cuban Eclectico at the Luxor Theater in Rotterdam.
