Carilda Oliver, National Literature Award and outstanding Cuban poet, passed away this morning at 96 years of age in her house, site in which she lived most of her life and from where she wrote her prodigal work.

Maestro Chucho Valdes and Argentine singer Patricia Sosa will present next Saturday night at Havana´s Grand Theatre their most recent joint record production entitled ¨Once. Concierto Para Dos¨ (Eleven. Concert for two).

The International Colloquium entitled The Caribbean that Unites Us, which is an academic encounter of the Fire Festival, this year dedicated to Puerto Rica began on Wednesday in the Eastern city with a conference "Over Wings and Birds, Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Caribbean.

More than 700 artists and intellectuals from 26 countries will attend the 38th edition of the Caribbean Festival or Feast of Fire, to be held from July 3 to 9 in Santiago de Cuba, with Puerto Rico as guest of honor.
