The popular Cuban trademark Gaby & Sofi in the field of children’s didactic toys and articles launched its new products Tuesday in Havana to garner its place at the music and audiovisual markets.

Acosta Dance company, led by outstanding Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta will open a season on February 9 in the UK presenting the “Cuban 100 Percent” project, marked by choreographies inspired in Cuban culture.

The II Cuba-Netherlands Water Polo Masters Meeting will kick off on Wednesday, February 9, at the swimming pool of the High Performance Athletes Training School in this city.

Renowned international musicians like Andy and Lucas, Carlos Torres, Alex Ubago and the Mexican band Kalimba will perform in Havana as part of the San Remo Music Awards Festival to be held here April 5-10, as this city will be the first venue in Ibero-America of the prestigious Italian music event.

"The National Ballet of Cuba (BNC) is currently preparing for its first national tour in the province of Matanzas(western region), at the Sauto Theater, which has always welcomed us," said Viengsay Valdes, director of this renowned dance company.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel met at the Revolution Palace with talented artists who participated in the recently concluded 37th International Jazz Plaza Festival held in Havana January 18-23.

Researcher and essayist Marlene Vázquez Pérez will be the guest on the 27th of the cultural program Libro a la carta (Book à la carte), conducted by journalist and critic Fernando Rodríguez Sosa, on the occasion of the 169th anniversary of José Martí's birth.

 Argentinian bass player Javier Malosetti is another of the renowned foreign musicians taking part at the 37th edition of the International Jazz Plaza Festival, which will be held until next Sunday in Havana, Cuba's capital city.

"It is a privilege to be in Cuba," U.S. guitarist Dominic Miller said at the daily press conference held every day at the Ministry of Culture in the context of the 2022 International Jazz Plaza Festival.

Pianists Ray Lema (Democratic Republic of Congo) and Laurent de Wilde (France) are two of the foreign artists who enhance the prestige of the 2022 Jazz Plaza International Festival, to be held until Sunday Jan. 23 in Havana and Santiago de Cuba.

The presentations of Cuban musician Ignacio "Nachito" Herrera", who lives in the United States, and maestro Bobby Carcasés, officially opened the 37th edition of the International Jazz Plaza Festival in Havana at Teatro Nacional de Cuba.

The first day of the International Jazz Colloquium did homage to Cuban music with two major events: Trompeta en duelo mayor por el Greco. Homage to José Miguel Greco, based on a discussion of the great musician’s artistic career, and performances by talented trumpet players such as Julio Padrón, Roberto García, Mayquel González and Yasek Manzano.

The Acosta Danza company, led by first dancer Carlos Acosta, will present the season 100%cubano (100% Cuban) at Teatro Nacional de Cuba’s Avellaneda Hall on January 28, 29 and 30 after being inactive for a whole year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

US-based Cuban musician Ignacio “Nachito” Herrera arrived in Havana on Tuesday to participate at Jazz Plaza Festival and brought a donation of medical equipment and musical instruments to the island.
