Cuba reported its progress regarding the updating of its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) for adaptation to climate change at a meeting between representatives A meeting of representatives of organizations, cooperation agencies and the United Nations System (UNS).

Speech delivered by Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, at the friendly meeting on the occasion of the visit to Cuba of To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, at the Hotel Nacional, on September 27, 2024, “66th Year of the Revolution”.

The signing of seven new bilateral agreements in the context of the state visit to Cuba by To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and President of that nation, is a new opportunity to deepen relations between the two countries.

Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, member of the Political Bureau and head of Cuban foreign affairs, participated in the meeting of the Ministerial Committee of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) on Palestine, in the context of the activities of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), which is taking place in New York, headquarters of the international organization.

In a post on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel stressed that the state visit of his Vietnamese counterpart To Lam will relaunch ties between the two nations and welcomed the also general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, who will be in the island until Friday, September 27.

Political Bureau member Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, welcomed Mr. To Lam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (PCV) and President of that country, at the José Martí International Airport in Havana.

Cuba’s Political Bureau member Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with several officials from friendly nations in the context of the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States.

The president of the Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament), Esteban Lazo and the president of Namibia’s National Council (Upper Chamber of Parliament), Lucas Sinimbo, expressed their willingness to strengthen relations between their countries’ legislative bodies.
