Díaz-Canel: “We can get ahead with our talent and hard work”

GUANTÁNAMO, Cuba, Feb 26 (ACN) With the good news that production levels are gradually growing since October 2024, the workers of the Base Enterprise (UEB) Áridos Luis Raposo welcomed Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, who paid a visit to their municipality along with top national and local Party and Government officials.

“What changed?” was the President’s question to the director general of this UEB―dedicated to the production of loose aggregations like gravel for concrete production―who replied that the entity was reorganized, its management replaced, and innovators were put in charge of finding solutions to the existing problems.

The President’s provincial tour also included a buffalo breeding farm, a daycare center, and a local community in transformation, where he talked with workers and staff and asked about their working conditions and needs, as well as with local residents whom he assured that these visits are useful inasmuch as they teach good experiences and bring into relief what is being done the wrong way.

“Things can improve by finding inspiration in the best results”, he said. “We assess strategies to overcome our current difficulties, and life tells us that we’ve got potential to get around the intensified U.S. blockade, but we have to work hard, since nobody is going to bring us the solution. (…)
We conclude here our visit to province, but we will come again before the end of the year. In the meantime, we count on your unity in the conviction that we can get ahead using our talent, hard work, and resolve to not give up”.
