The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, Army General Raul Castro Ruz, presided on Tuesday over a meeting of the Political Bureau which approved the suspension of the May 1st rally and the Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP by its Spanish acronym).

he Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) reported this Tuesday 16 new positive cases of the coronavirus SARS CoV-2, for a total of 186 in the country, of which 165 patients are in stable clinical evolution, three reported in critical condition and three in severe condition, plus two deaths.

With the confirmation of 31 new cases, the number of patients in Cuba positive for the coronavirus SARS CoV-2, which causes COVID-19, has risen to 170, the Ministry of Public Health reported this Monday.

Dr. José Angel Portal, head of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) announced that Cuba continues in a pre-epidemic phase due to the new coronavirus COVID-19; extreme epidemiological surveillance and control is maintained throughout the country and a local transmission phase was established in Matanzas province.

Bruno Rodriuez, Cuba´s Minister of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the medical solidarity of his country with Dominica, after the arrival of a health brigade to the sister nation to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported today 13 new positive cases for SARS CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes COVID-19, for a total of 80 in the country, as well as three medical discharges.

Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel considered that "to the extent that we all understand the responsibility that each of us has with others; we will face more efficiently the pandemic of the new coronavirus”.

As it has become a normal practice, several Cuban Ministers made a report on the implementation of government measures in health, economy and work and social security, to face the expansion of COVID-19 in the primetime TV show Roundtable.

he sending of mail, packages and couriers abroad was suspended from March 25, as part of the measures adopted by the Cuban Post Office Business Group to tackle COVID-19.
