Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel began today in St. Petersburg the program of his official visit to Russia, during which he will participate in the events marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism (May 9, 1945).

With the presence of Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Prime Minister of the Republic, the meeting of the Pan American Commission of Technical Standards (COPANT), is taking place from May 4 to 7.

Cuban and US citizens gathered at Havana’s Friendship Center on Wednesday to pay homage to US activist William (Bill) Camp, who tirelessly advocated the normalization of US-Cuba relations and free travel to Cuba for US citizens.

The presentation of experiences of Latin American and Caribbean professionals is the focus of the last session today of the Regional Workshop to Promote the Universalization of the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material and its Amendment.
