Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo, Hero of the Republic of Cuba, was reelected Thursday as national coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) during the 10th Congress of the grassroots organization, which marked its 63rd anniversary on September 28.

Cubans marked on Thursday the 63rd anniversary of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), Cuba’s largest grassroots organization, founded September 28th at the proposal of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz.

The Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDRs) are inseparable witnesses of the nation project we are building, said Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel referring to the largest grassroots Cuban organization, whose 10th Congress wound up on Thursday.

Come Friday, the House of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA Cultural) will pay tribute to the Venezuelan politician, lawyer and diplomat Alí Rodríguez Araque, who also served as Secretary-General of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR).

Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, met in this city with Nguyen Hong Linh, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (PCV) and Secretary of the Organization in Dong Nai province.

The protection of children and teenagers around the world and the strengthening of cooperation to find case-specific solutions are the hallmarks of the 4th International Conference “Proinfancia 2023”, sponsored by UNICEF, which gathers delegates from Burkina Faso, Colombia, Canada, France, Mozambique, Russia, Venezuela, Congo, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Tanzania, as well as members of the Havana Office of the International Organization for Migration, based in Geneva.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel thanked all delegations which demanded at the 78 Session of the UN General Assembly the end of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade and the withdrawal of Cuba from the US list of states sponsors of terrorism.

 Cuban Parliament President Esteban Lazo Hernandez concluded an official visit to Vietnam, which marked the 50th anniversary of the first visit to that nation by the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro.

“The Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) are a bulwark of the Revolution in our neighborhoods and communities,” Cuban Hero Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, national coordinator of the mass organization, said in the opening session of the 10th Congress of the CDRs.

Fifty years after Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro’s first visit to Vietnam, a Cuban delegation led by Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the Parliament, participated in the ceremony in honor of the anniversary held in the city of Dong Ha.
