Cuba's men's volleyball team defeated Guatemala 3-2 in Group B of the North, Central America and Caribbean Continental Championship (Norceca) U21, to be held until Sunday in Nogales, Mexico, a qualifying tournament for the 2025 World Championship of the category.

The Cuban men's team lost on Thursday 1-3 to the Netherlands in the continuation of group four of the second week of the men's Volleyball Nations League (VNL), based in Ottawa, a tournament that awards points for the world ranking (WR) for the Olympic ( OR) of Paris 2024.

The Cuban beach volleyball players Noslen Díaz and Jorge Luis Alayo will be in the 2024 Olympics thanks to their results in the recent World Pro Tour Challenge Tournament held in Stare Jablonki, Poland, and to the elimination of the Austrian and Chilean pairs in the Elite 16 in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

Three Cuban Greco-Roman wrestlers, namely Olympic and world champion Luis Orta (67 kg), Kevin de Armas (60 kg) and Yosvanys Peña (77 kg), will compete in the Polyak Imre and Varga Janos Memorial Wrestling Tournament, to be held in Budapest until June 9.

Cuban athletics will have several competitions this month, the first of them on the 15th in Amiens, France, where middle-distance runner Rose Mary Almanza and long jumper Alejandro Parada will participate.

World Athletics (WA), the governing body of world athletics, announced that starting in 2026, each season will have a competition at the highest level, in which the best athletes of the year, including world and Olympic champions, could participate.

The Cuban beach volleyball duo of Noslen Diaz and Jorge Luis Alayo remained in the Olympic qualification zone for Paris 2024, now in 17th place with 7,800 points, after the latest official update -June 3- of the world ranking (WR) of the International Federation of International Volleyball Federation (FIVB).

The Cuban women’s team lost 0-3 to the Dominican Republic and finished fourth—and last—in Pool A of the 1st Girls’ U17 Pan American Volleyball Cup, under way in Guatemala City.
