Cuban canoeist Jose Ramon Pelier, 10th in Paris 2024



PARIS, Aug 9 (ACN) Cuban Jose Ramon Pelier finished tenth today in the individual canoe (C1) at 1,000 meters, corresponding to these Olympic Games.

In the nautical stadium Vaires-Sud-Marne, the 23-year-old Cuban came second at the finish line of the final B, in 3:48.58 minutes (min).

Romanian Catalina Chirila, current world champion, led the race with a time of 3:47.48 minutes, thus finishing ninth in this event.

Pelier, winner of the Pan American Games of Santiago de Chile 2023, could not reach the final A for the discussion of medals, as he placed sixth in the first semifinal with a time of 3:46.37 minutes, according to the official website of this competition under the five rings.

Three years ago, in Tokyo, the Cuban won the B final, finishing ninth.
